Electrical properties of insulating paper
The table shows the typical electrical performance values of the paper. The dielectric strength value when the AC voltage rises rapidly in the table reflects the electric field intensity level that can withstand seconds at a frequency of , rather than long-term high voltage. DuPont recommends that the continuous voltage in the transformer should not exceed /(/) in order to minimize the risk of partial discharge (corona). The full-wave impact dielectric strength values in the table are generated on flat materials such as interlayers and enclosure screens. The geometry of the system structure affects the actual impact strength value of the material. These dielectric strength data are typical values and are not recommended values for design purposes. Design values can be provided if required.
